Mr. Beast Burger - Virtual Restaurant Review

I recently ordered a Mr. Beast Burger for the purpose of research (I was also hungry and it was my birthday, so Mike Forrest, our CEO offered to pay for it; thank you!). As a digital marketing consultant who works with restaurants, I wanted to learn more about the process of ordering from a ghost kitchen and a virtual restaurant. By gaining first-hand experience with the ordering process, I hoped to better explain to some of our catering and restaurant clients how restaurants can supplement their sales by adding a ghost kitchen concept to their business.

Mr. Beast Burgers was an excellent example to study, given their widespread fame and popularity. I was curious to see how the virtual restaurant operated and how it compared to traditional brick-and-mortar restaurants.

Overall, I found the experience of ordering from Mr. Beast Burgers to be straightforward and efficient. The food arrived a bit later than the estimated time, but it was well-packaged for delivery with Mr. Beast's Burger's personal brand. The burger itself was not too special and some would say it was plain. However, it was priced competitively and was better than most fast food restaurants since they are made by a slightly higher end burger restaurant (Red Robin for me).

Through this experience, I gained valuable insights into the world of ghost kitchens and virtual restaurants. I'm excited to share these insights with my clients and help them explore the potential of this innovative approach to food service. I feel like the information I gathered would be beneficial to anyone who has ever considered opening up a new restaurant too.

What is a Mr. Beast Burger?

Mr. Beast Burger is a relatively new fast-food chain that has quickly gained popularity in the United States. The chain is known for its innovative approach to fast food, which includes burgers and chicken sandwiches. These are sold nationwide under a virtual restaurant with the food prepared within a ghost kitchen and packaged under the Mr. Beast brand. The burgers are available for delivery only through their website (MrBeastBurgers.com) and various food delivery apps, and are cooked and prepared in ghost kitchens in partnership with established restaurants, food truck operators and caterers.

Where Can I Get a Mr. Beast Burger?

Since they are a virtual restaurant, Mr. Beast Burgers can only be purchased through their website (MrBeastBurgers.com) or on food delivery apps like Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub, and Postmates. This means that you can only order Mr. Beast Burgers for delivery through these apps.

To order Mr. Beast Burgers, simply download one of these food delivery apps and search for "Mr. Beast Burgers" in the app. The available menu items and pricing may vary depending on your location and the delivery app you are using.

It's also worth noting that Mr. Beast Burgers is not available in every city or state. The chain has partnered with specific ghost kitchens to prepare and deliver its food, and these kitchens are located in select cities across the United States. You can check the availability of Mr. Beast Burgers in your area by visiting the chain's website or by searching for it in your food delivery app.

Overall, if you want to try Mr. Beast Burgers, you'll need to use a food delivery app to place your order. Just make sure that you check the availability of the chain in your area before you start ordering.

The ghost kitchen that made my Mr. Beast Burger was Red Robin on Polaris Parkway. The individual who delivered it was a Door Dash driver.

Burger Price Comparison

Disclaimer: Prices as of March 2023 in Columbus, Ohio. Prices may vary depending on your location.

  • Mr. Beast Burger - 9.99
  • Double Smash Burger - 9.49
  • Five Guys Hamburger - 10.29
  • Dave's Double - 6.39
  • Double Quarter Pounder McDonald's - 6.69
  • Double Whopper - 6.69
  • Red Robin Burgers - 13.29 - 15.49 (includes sides, so this may be an unfair comparssion)
  • Swenson's Double Cheeseburger - 4.40

How Long Does Delivery Take?

This time frame can vary depending on your location and the time of day. It also depends entirely upon the number of Door Dash (or other third party) delivery drivers who are currently logged in to the app and working during the time you ordered. The ETA (estimated time arrival) said 48 minutes, but in reality it was over an hour.

What Did I think of Mr. Beast Burger?

Personally I am not picky about what I eat. Therefore, I can firmly say that I thoroughly enjoyed eating the Mr. Beast Burger. Since Red Robin was the ghost kitchen that prepared my food, I basically got a stripped down version of a Red Robin burger. So at least a gourmet burger restaurant actually made this.

However, if you want to compare Mr. Beast Burger to Smash Burger or Five Guys Burger and Fries, then I would say that you get a much better deal! In my personal opinion, the Mr. Beast Burgers could definitely give these places a run for their money because a Mr. Beast Burger actually costs less than a burger at Five Guys and is about the same price as a double Smash burger. Also, an interesting note, the place that prepared my Mr. Beast Burger was Red Robin and they actually charge more for their burgers.

Based on my subjective opinion about the taste, I can say that the Mr. Beast Burger certainly beats a double quarter pounder at McDonald's and it also beats the double Whopper at Burger King, but for the price, you could literally more value from those other fast food restaurants since you could get two double burgers for the price of a Mr. Beast Burger (which also has two beef patties done in the "smash burger" style).

One common criticism that I found online of Mr. Beast Burger is that the burgers are plain and lack flavor. While some customers appreciate the simplicity of the burgers, others feel that they are too basic and unmemorable. This may be due in part to the fact that the chain uses pre-made patties and does not allow for customization beyond a few basic toppings.

What Did I think of Mr. Beast Fries?

Personally, I enjoyed the fries, but I would not go for the upgraded "Beast Fries". Not knowing what I was getting (I know, I could have Google image searched this, but I didn't think to do it at the time), I decided to give it a go. Much to my disappointment, the "Beast Fries" were covered in mayo, mustard, onions and pickles. To be honest, I would have rather preferred the seasoned fries over the mess I got. However, I mentioned before that I was not a picky eater, so I ate the Beast Fries anyways. I left some of the pickles in the box, but the fries were good.

According to many customers who have tried Mr. Beast Burger that is the quality of the fries. While some customers enjoy the standard fries, others feel that they are no different from any frozen fries you can buy at the grocery store. The extra Beast style fries, which come with a variety of sauces and toppings, have also received mixed reviews. While some customers enjoy the overwhelming combination of flavors, others find it too much and prefer to get their fries plain or seasoned.

What Do People Generally Think of Mr. Beast Burgers?

The reception of Mr. Beast Burgers has been mixed, with both positive and negative reviews online. Some customers have praised the chain for its innovative approach to fast food, high-quality ingredients, and commitment to charity, while others have criticized the food for being basic and lacking in flavor.

On review websites like Yelp and Google, the overall rating for Mr. Beast Burgers varies by location, with some locations receiving high ratings and others receiving low ratings. In general, the chain has received an average rating of around 3-4 stars out of 5 on these sites, indicating a relatively even mix of positive and negative reviews.

On social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram, Mr. Beast Burgers has a dedicated fan base that frequently shares photos of their meals and praises the chain for its unique approach to fast food. However, there are also many users who have shared negative experiences with the chain, such as long wait times or orders that were incorrect or poorly prepared.

Overall, while Mr. Beast Burgers has its fans and detractors, the consensus online is that the chain is a worthwhile option for those looking for a fast food meal with a twist. However, as with any restaurant, the quality of the food and service may vary by location and individual experience, so it's important to read a variety of reviews before making a decision.

What Type of Ghost Kitchen Can Sell Mr. Beast Burgers?

The ghost kitchen model is central to the operations of Mr. Beast Burgers, as the chain does not have any physical locations and relies on third-party kitchens to prepare and deliver its food. To be qualified to sell Mr. Beast Burgers, a ghost kitchen must meet certain criteria.

First and foremost, the ghost kitchen must be able to meet the standards for food preparation and safety set by Mr. Beast Burgers. This includes following specific recipes and cooking methods to ensure that the food is consistent and of high quality. The kitchen must also have the necessary equipment and facilities to store, prepare, and cook the food in a safe and hygienic manner.

Secondly, the ghost kitchen must be able to provide delivery services to customers within a certain radius. Mr. Beast Burgers relies on third-party delivery apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash to handle the delivery of its food, so the ghost kitchen must be able to work with these apps and have a reliable system for receiving and fulfilling orders.

Lastly, the ghost kitchen must be able to manage the volume of orders that come in for Mr. Beast Burgers. The chain has become extremely popular since its launch, and demand for its food can be high in certain areas. The ghost kitchen must be able to handle the volume of orders efficiently and without sacrificing the quality of the food.

Overall, to be qualified to sell Mr. Beast Burgers, a ghost kitchen must meet the standards for food preparation and safety, provide delivery services, and be able to handle high volumes of orders efficiently.

Thoughts About Mr. Beast Burger's Branding?

Many customers have commented on the unique and eye-catching design of the packaging which includes a mascot which features a "panther-like animal head" with lightning bolts coming out of its eyes. The use of primary colors such as red, yellow, and blue in the branding also adds to the overall visual appeal of Mr. Beast Burger's marketing materials. Red typically invokes the urge to eat based on psychology and the primary red on the packaging does this. The Yellow also has a "fast food" feel to it, which is commonly associated with McDonald's. Overall, I think the color in the branding was on point.

Some customers have also praised the branding for its association with popular YouTube personality Mr. Beast, who has a massive following on social media platforms. The use of Mr. Beast's name and "blue beast" mascot in the branding has helped to create a sense of excitement and exclusivity around the Mr. Beast Burger brand, which has contributed to its popularity among certain demographics.

Overall, it seems that customers are generally impressed with the branding and logo of Mr. Beast Burger, which has helped to set it apart from other fast food and burger chains in the market.

Are There Any Mr. Beast Burger Restaurants?

As of right now, Mr. Beast Burgers operates exclusively as a virtual restaurant, with its food prepared in third-party ghost kitchens and delivered directly to customers through food delivery apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash. However, I did see an article that mentioned Mr. Beast Burgers hinted at the idea of opening up physical locations and may even franchise.

It's also worth noting that other virtual restaurants, like CloudKitchens and Reef Technology, have started to experiment with physical locations. These companies operate a network of ghost kitchens and have begun to open up "ghost kitchens" within existing restaurants or other commercial spaces, allowing customers to order food for delivery or pickup.

Overall, while there have been no official announcements from Mr. Beast Burgers regarding plans to open physical locations, the success of the chain and changing trends in the restaurant industry suggest that it's possible this could happen in the future.

Who Is Mr. Beast?

I know him as a popular YouTube content creator. Therefore, there is a lot of public information about him. Mr. Beast's real name is Jimmy Donaldson and he was born on May 7, 1998, in Greenville, North Carolina, USA.

To summarize his success, Mr. Beast rose to fame through his YouTube channel, which features videos of stunts, challenges, and philanthropic activities. In 2019, Mr. Beast ventured into the food industry with the launch of Mr. Beast Burgers, a virtual restaurant chain that operates through third-party delivery apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash. The chain features a variety of burger options, as well as sides and desserts.
